A drain in Goodna is not
a drain in Ripley.
Goodna’s older streets run on earthenware clay laid long before PVC, with joints that tree roots find and flood silt settles into. Ripley’s homes are barely a decade old and block on builder’s debris and landscaping over the line. Parts of Bundamba and Collingwood Park sit above old coal workings, where ground movement leaves sewer joints displaced. Karalee, Chuwar and Pine Mountain are largely unsewered and run on septic and treatment systems.

Why does my drain keep blocking after it has been cleared?
Clearing restores flow. It leaves the cause in place: roots at an old clay joint, a sagging section that holds water, or a crack that snags paper and grease. Until a plumber finds and fixes that, the drain keeps filling in. After the second blockage, a camera inspection costs less than a third clear.

Do you have a 24-hour emergency number?
No. This site is an enquiry service and answers by email. It has no phone line yet and cannot send anyone out, so it is no help during an active flood. Turn the water off at the meter and ring a plumber who can confirm they are on the way.
