Flinders View: what
actually goes wrong.
Flinders View grew through the 1980s and 1990s on the rising ground south of Raceview, with newer estates added since around Winston Glades. As the name suggests, many streets look south towards Flinders Peak, and the sloping blocks make stormwater management a regular topic.
Flinders View was built while drainage and plumbing materials were changing over, which means one house can have clay in the front yard and PVC out the back. Blockages here usually trace to one ageing section or a junction between the two, not the whole system. Original hot water systems, taps and drains across the suburb are now reaching the end of their service life at roughly the same time.
