How we find the cause.
A useful enquiry describes the symptom, the location and what you want the outcome to be. From that we can usually tell whether you are looking at a fixture, the water supply, drainage or a planned alteration, and point you at the right starting place without you having to guess first.
A clear scope protects you. Separate the faults that need fixing from the upgrades you would like, tell us about any access restrictions, and ask for the work and its cost to be explained before anyone starts. If a job turns out to be bigger once it is opened up, that should come back to you as a decision, not appear on the invoice.
What to send us
List the issues in priority order and include clear photos where it is safe to take them. Tell us your suburb, how to reach you and any product details you have. Guessing at the cause is genuinely not required, and a wrong guess is less useful than a plain description.
What actually moves the price
The number and type of jobs, the access, the parts and how much investigation is needed all affect the scope. If you have several jobs, ask whether they can be done in one visit, and agree how any additional work gets authorised before it happens.
