Tivoli: what
actually goes wrong.
Tivoli lies north of North Ipswich on the road towards Karalee, with post-war homes on its lower streets and larger rural-residential blocks on the hills. Its riverside flats were affected by the 2011 and 2022 floods, while the higher ground has a semi-rural feel.
Tivoli was built while drainage and plumbing materials were changing over, which means one house can have clay in the front yard and PVC out the back. Blockages here usually trace to one ageing section or a junction between the two, not the whole system. Original hot water systems, taps and drains across the suburb are now reaching the end of their service life at roughly the same time.
