Moores Pocket: what
actually goes wrong.
Moores Pocket is a small, quiet suburb on the northern side of the Bremer River, reached through North Ipswich. It is surrounded by water on three sides, which makes it peaceful in normal times and vulnerable in floods, as 2011 and 2022 showed.
Most of Moores Pocket was built before PVC drainage and copper or PEX water pipes became standard, so earthenware sewer lines, galvanised water pipes and original cisterns are still in the ground and still working. That age is what drives the enquiries here: blockages that keep coming back at the same joint, corrosion leaks inside walls, and fixtures whose parts stopped being made decades ago.
