One Mile is a small suburb between Leichhardt and West Ipswich, with post-war homes on the flat and older houses closer to the Bremer River. It is a straightforward, quiet suburb where most plumbing enquiries relate to the age of fixtures and drains.
One Mile was built while drainage and plumbing materials were changing over, which means one house can have clay in the front yard and PVC out the back. Blockages here usually trace to one ageing section or a junction between the two, not the whole system. Original hot water systems, taps and drains across the suburb are now reaching the end of their service life at roughly the same time.
